16/04/2014 - Welcome message from Figs President, Hon. Siro Zanella
We are going to host, for the second time, the European Squash Team Championships, after the 2007 edition, and we are very committed to the planning and delivering of this event.
Riccione is considered a friendly and welcoming town for sportsmen and sportswomen and, once again, all the participants will feel comfortable in this perfect location for world class squash.
May I take the opportunity, on behalf of the Italian Squash Federation and all Italian squash movement, to thank players, coaches, officials and supporters participating to these Championships and, as the highest Italian sports authorities and institutions have already done, I greet the Delegates to the concurrent Annual General Meeting.
We are very happy to be awarded by the ESF the organization of the 42nd men’s European Team Championships and the 37th women’s European Team Championships and we are confident it will be a great show in terms of play and participation.
A warm welcome and many thanks also to the Referees for their considerable commitment to the success of the Championships.
Last but not least, a special welcome to the volunteers for their hard work in delivering this event. We are very grateful to them.
Good luck to all!
Yours Sincerely,
Siro Zanella

24/03/2014 - Welcome message from Mr. Giovanni Malagò, President of CONI (Italian Olympic Committee)
I’m pleased to greet the event organizers, the coaches and the athletes that will take part to the 2014 European Team Championships in Riccione from 30 april to 3 may. The best European National Teams will come to Riccione so it’s a great chance for Squash to become more popular. There will be 35 representatives, between men’s and women’s teams, creating an exciting show which will be a perfect setting for the Annual General Meeting of the European Squash Federation. The meeting will see the participation of 42 Delegates and a representative of World Squash Federation, so I want to welcome all the Officials and offer a special thank for their appreciation towards the work carried out by President Siro Zanella and his Federation.
The coming event will help the growth of this extraordinary sport, giving our Country a prominent role on the International stage thanks to a credibility that is the result of our acknowledged organisational skills. I’m sure that also this time we will be able to manage the happening properly. It will be a further demonstration of our efficiency in dealing with sport in Italy. On behalf of the Italian Olympic Committee I give all the participants our support with the certainty that it will be a success for sport.

15/03/2014 - Welcome message from the Mayor of Riccione, Massimo Pironi
Squash is a young, cool and fast moving sport which requires speed, agility and quick reaction. And it is a sport in line with the characteristics of Riccione, which is a cool and dynamic destination, open to innovation and new lifestyles.
The European Team Championships will be hosted by Riccione for the second time, after the 2007 edition, and 43 European Countries - represented by the World’s best players - will take part to the event.
The town of Riccione is pleased to host the elite of World Squash and to welcome the Members of the European Squash Federation coming to Riccione for the Annual General Meeting together with a delegation of the World Squash Federation.
As for Squash, despite a relatively short history we are very proud to have already achieved great success.
Over the years, the town has always had a close relationship with modern sports, focusing on wellness and healthy lifestyles.
This meeting will give the town the chance to communicate its sporty soul, the great availability of accommodation, restaurants and fun facilities together with the beauty of its hinterland, its history, art and culture.
So, it’s an extraordinary opportunity for us, but also a challenge. We are committed to offer our guests the best experience, in terms of quality of event management and accommodation facilities, and we are confident that the town and its operators will succeed as usual.
I’m happy to welcome all the players, officials and coaches taking part to the event, giving Riccione the pleasure to be considered the center of World Squash for some days.
The Mayor of Riccione
Massimo Pironi
